Administrative Director
The Reesey and David Shaw Foundation
Help build the next chapter of a unique cultural foundation.
The Reesey and David Shaw Foundation seeks an intellectually curious, highly organized, and creative professional to serve as Administrative Director. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the infrastructure, public presence, and future growth of a nonprofit foundation dedicated to art, visual culture, education, and the evolving Reesey Shaw Curatorial Project (RSC).
We are not a traditional museum and are not seeking a collections manager or registrar. Instead, we seek a versatile leader who combines strong administrative skills with creativity, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for sharing art and ideas with diverse audiences. The Administrative Director will work closely with the Foundation's Board and oversee operations while helping expand the Foundation's digital presence, partnerships, and public engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Foundation operations and administration.
- Support Board activities, meetings, reports, and strategic planning.
- Oversee organizational systems.
- Help build the operational structure needed for future growth.
- Coordinate and support the Reesey Shaw Curatorial Project and related initiatives.
- Oversee communications, website content, newsletters, and social media.
- Develop relationships with museums, cultural organizations, educators, and community partners.
- Coordinate consultants, part-time staff, interns, and special projects.
- Help translate the Foundation's vision into meaningful public engagement and educational opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit, cultural, educational, foundation, or mission-driven organizations.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital communications, websites, social media, and audience engagement.
- Demonstrated interest in art, visual culture, museums, collecting, and education.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, imaginative, and comfortable working in a small entrepreneurial environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing organizational systems, managing projects, building relationships, creating communications, and contributing fresh ideas. They are energized by the opportunity to help build a growing organization and work collaboratively to expand the reach and impact of the Foundation.
