Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in POS systems, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for retail sales.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them
- Operate POS systems efficiently for checkout and returns
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Offer excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
- Support team members with supervising tasks when needed
- Promote store promotions and special offers to customers
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and stocking products
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is advantageous
- Friendly attitude with a focus on providing outstanding customer experiences
