Job Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an executable plan the production team will utilize to achieve scheduled goals. This entails a range of work including inbound component planning, production resource scheduling, blueprint stage gate approval management, and maintenance/quality/continuous improvement activities. Other duties include the development of cost-effective measures with the aim of achieving exceptional qualitative throughput business practices. The production supervisor will lead, manage, and be accountable for all production floor associates and manufacturing functions, including warehouse, inventory, logistics, receiving, metal fab, and print lab.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and report effectiveness of production activities
- Manage flow throughout the manufacturing operation
- Create and manage the production schedule so that client expectations are met
- Adapt to changes and respond to customer demands
- Increase work efficiency by ensuring Job start readiness and balanced resource alignment
- Identify and deploy cross trained resources to shorten WIP time
- Balance multiple priorities to maximize resources and identify bottlenecks
- Evaluate departmental processes for lean opportunities
- Develop KPI, metrics and measurables for the team and teammates
Daily Expectations
- Stage and confirm all picks, buys, and materials are ready for upcoming jobs. Make sure all jobs have appropriate promise dates, drawings, and linked artwork.
- Plan and schedule the daily activities by setting clear time and quantity expectations for each team member.
- Review and modify/fix daily timecard to ensure proper allocation of time, rework, and job notes are recorded
- Complete all jobs by making sure all routings are properly recorded and closed, all materials are issued, and shipping has all required addresses
- Review jobs:
- Estimate time vs. Actuals – why were there differences
- Hand in Engineering Change forms
- Return all unused material
· Help with inventory counts and adjustments
Qualifications
- Certifications in scheduling/production management preferred though not required
- Prior experience working as a Production Supervisor or Scheduler in the industry preferred, though not required
- Strong understanding of value stream and how to help reduce non-value time
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and proficient with MS Office suite
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sharp business acumen and urgent motivation
- High regard for quality assurance
- Strong organizational and time-management skills

Summary
A successful Production Supervisor will collaborate throughout the enterprise to deliver achievable production schedules. This position will work closely with the Operations Manager and Sales team to meet or exceed client expectations. This individual will regularly lead internal dialogue to coordinate the consumption of time and materials to best meet deadlines and cost estimates. The Production Supervisor leads development and utilization of ERP to achieve best standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
