JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of your job position is to provide residents with routine care and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
SPECIAL SKILLS AND JOB DUTIES:
- Provides care to residents per daily work schedules
- Assists residents with activities of daily Living
- Identifies and acts on unassigned tasks
- Participates with activities staff and residents in daily programs as directed
- Knows and complies with all resident rights
- Removes, launders, folds and property returns resident laundry
- Communicates any changes in condition, behaviors, etc. to nurse
- Help to keep common areas clean
- Responds to resident/family request in a timely manner
- Demonstrates high levels of customer service including being friendly, courteous, answering phone when appropriate, greeting tours and guests.
- Effective time management—completing work within shift, clocking in and out on time, taking no more than allotted breaks (two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute break).
- Teamwork (willing to assist co-workers, i.e. help toilet residents, feed, assisting activities etc.); willingness to work on any unit
- Attend all mandatory meetings; attend all mandatory trainings and other mandatory meetings
- Wear name badge at all times while on duty; maintain clean appropriate uniform
- Maintain positive attitude and professionalism with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- Report any allegation or suspicion of abuse, neglect, mistreatment or misappropriation (theft) to Director of Nursing or Administrator immediately.
- Adaptability – can adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected results.
- Communication –Effectively communicates with residents, family and friends, co-workers. Efficiently documents as required in a timely manner.
- Dependability – consistent attendance, ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction and to solicit feedback to improve performance.
- Safety and security – actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials properly.
- Interpersonal skills – maintaining confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit willingness to try new things.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
SHIFT: 12 hours/shift 36+hours/week, occasional overtime.
BREAKS: 2 @ 10-15 minutes each, 1 @ 30 minutes.
