Gerald’s Place is a small, locally owned cafe where teamwork is important. We are looking for a reliable, experienced cafe or restaurant team member with a great attitude and a strong focus on customer service who is willing to learn all areas of the cafe.
Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM Monday-Friday
The position
Your primary responsibilities will be morning food preparation and lunch service We make most of our food in house, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, ba goods, and other menu items. During lunch you will work on our food line preparing and assembling orders in a fast paced environment similar to a line cook. You will also help with customer orders, espresso drinks, cooking, cleaning and other cafe duties as needed. Being willing to jump in and help your fellow team members wherever needed is an important part of this position.
Restaurant or cafe experience is required. Our lunch rush can be very fast paced, so we need someone who can work efficiently, stay ir, handle pressure and provide friendly, positive customer service while working well with a small team.
Pay
Starting wage: $18.00 per hour + tips
Starting pay may be adjusted based on experience. Opportunities for a wage increase will be considered after the initial training period based on experience, performance, reliability and how well you fit into the team.
Initial Evaluation Period
The first two weeks will be an initial training and evaluation period for both the employee and Gerald’s Place to make sure the position is a good fit. We will be looking at job performance, reliability, attitude, teamwork and ability to meet the demands of the position. If the position is not a good fit or expectations are not being met, employment may be ended during this period.
Our goal is to train the right person to become comfortable working in all areas of Gerald’s Place and be a dependable, positive part of our team.
