We are looking for an energetic, hands on barista with retail and service experience who loves building regular customers, delivering outstanding service, and has a can-do attitude!
Gourmand is an upscale market serving fresh coffee & pastries, a full menu including grab & go, a full bar, as well as a retail/gift shop. We are looking for a barista who can serve tables and help with retail sales & merchandising. We all wear a lot of hats so we're looking for someone well rounded in hospitality, values quality and fosters community. We pride ourselves on our positive, supportive work environment, and pay competitively in all roles. This isn't a stand behind the counter barista job, you'll move between service, retail checkout, guest interaction, running food & supporting events (Mahjong, trivia, classes, tastings, etc). We use Toast POS system so experience with that is a huge plus!
Barista shifts are from 7:30am- 3pm or 3pm-10pm. Mornings are very coffee oriented with breakfast & lunch service, as well as restocking and the retail space, accepting orders from vendors, updating the computer system with new many items and general store upkeep. Because the tips aren't as high during the day, we pay higher hourly. Night shifts are more service oriented with less coffee and more cashiering and table service, so the hourly are less but the tips are great.
