Location: Remote or Hampton Roads, VA (Preferred)
We are looking for an experienced Hotshot Dispatcher to join our growing transportation team. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and has a proven track record of finding profitable freight and maximizing truck revenue.
Responsibilities
- Find and book profitable loads daily.
- Negotiate the highest possible rates with brokers.
- Plan efficient routes to minimize deadhead miles.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with drivers.
- Monitor shipments and provide real-time updates.
- Manage load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, and similar platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and shippers.
- Handle rate confirmations, carrier packets, and dispatch paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service.
- Resolve transportation issues quickly and professionally.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience (hotshot or trucking preferred).
- Strong knowledge of DAT, Truckstop, and other load boards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable computer and internet connection for remote work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience dispatching hotshot trucks and gooseneck trailers.
- Established relationships with freight brokers.
- Experience using transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
