Bensons Building Supply has been in the building supply industry for 106 years and is still owned and operated by the founding family. We have recently expanded to Fort Myers and looking to hire a driver. A driver position at Bensons Building Supply consists of loading and unloading materials onto the truck and driving it out to the delivery location. Drivers are required to become familiar with what materials they are loading and delivering, reading the paperwork correctly at each delivery site ensures that the proper materials are delivered.
Tasks
· Inspect delivery vehicle daily to make sure it’s in good working order. If an issue is found have the mechanic check it out.
· Load materials onto delivery truck using fork life or just manually loading supplies.
· Check truck to make sure all materials match the order slips for each delivery stop scheduled.
· Before unloading review paperwork at each delivery stop to make sure the correct material are being delivered.
· At times, the driver is responsible for collecting payment on C.O.D jobs and returning it to the company.
· Filling out proper paperwork at each delivery and signing the forms that everything was delivered properly.
· Take pictures of specific delivery sites or driveways if there are issues before materials are delivered.
· Speak to customers at delivery sites on occasion and make sure their needs are met in regards to placement of materials.
Requirements
· Must have either CDL A or B with Air Brake
· Must consistently pass random drug screens
· Maintain a good driving record at work and on personal time
· Must have good communication skills
· Must be reliable and on time as jobs are scheduled according to employee work schedules
· Detail oriented to make sure paperwork matches materials being delivered
