Job Summary
Medical assistants who can work closely with patients, staff, and physician with-in the practice. Must have previous work-related skills and knowledge of the medical field. Previous work-related skills including electronic health record (Athena), reporting patient history, chart preparation, answering phone calls, preparing testing for laboratory, administrative, quality measures, and HIPAA guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Take and record patient history and personal information
- Record any changes in medications
- Prepare patient for physician by reason of appointment
- Perform all ancillary procedures I.E. EKG, urine dip stick, glucose finger stick, throat cultures, pregnancy test, immunizations and any other testing deemed necessary by physician
- Perform and chart height, weight, blood pressure
- Perform and chart patient injections as directed by the physician
- Perform, chart and take temperatures for all sick patient visits
- Acquire test results prior to time of visit and chart prep for physician
- Once informed by physician notify patients of any normal test results
- Prepare testing for laboratory
- Enter quality measure findings
- Answer phone calls and triage messages as needed
- Stock examining rooms and inventory supplies
- Respect patient confidentiality
- Ability to use a personal computer
- Team player
- Must follow HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalency. Two or more years of work experience as a Medical Assistant. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, computer efficiency and experience with electronic health record.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
