GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the overall upkeep of restaurant and healthcare facilities within the Sarasota area through responsive, accurate, and efficient maintenance. This will be accomplished through the performance of simple tasks that require the application of general maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools, and equipment. The Maintenance Tech serves as a member of the Maintenance team that is responsible for the physical condition of all buildings and grounds.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Performs routine and emergency repairs at restaurant and healthcare locations including correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, repairing and replacing light bulbs and fixtures, repairing doors and locks.
2. General Maintenance repairs to grounds and buildings
3. Respond to emergency calls.
4. Completes all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment information. Attention to detail is a must.
5. Will assist other Maintenance personnel, when necessary, in the completion of various projects or repairs.
6. Assists in maintaining proper levels of materials and supplies for the locations to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.
7. Will be expected to work a reasonable amount of scheduled and "on-call" overtime as necessary.
8. Performs additional duties requested by the Supervisor and the Director of Facilities Services in order to ensure effective and efficient operation within the company.
9. Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in the Attendance policy.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must possess a working knowledge of commercial building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring, painting, wall repairs, ceiling tile replacement, and any other general maintenance. Must be able to effectively communicate with team and management.
Requirements/Experience:
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new things as needed.
Minimum of 2 years in General Maintenance in a residential or commercial setting.
Clean driving record
Own set of tools to get the jobs done.
Able to effectively communicate and follow directions.
Able to use and understand technology. (Computer based work order system)
EDUCATION: High School or GED. Should possess 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction, or maintenance.
