SUMMARY
This is a start up opportunity at a new manufacturing plant in Fridley, MN for Mortenson's sister company, BLUvera. We are looking for a leader to build out the team and work stations. Candidates that will be considered are self-driven, not a micro-manager, enjoys thinking on the fly, and creative. Candidates with a construction and leadership background will be given priority for interviews, and if you have manufacturing/assembly background, that's a plus.
BLUvera is currently seeking a Superintendent that will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
This is a unique Superintendent role, more for an entry level Superintendent or General Foreman that is fine with working in a manufacturint environment. Only overseeing 1-5 craft and handling low production of new products being built. Must have a creative mind, natural leadership abilities, and be one that could take machines apart (i.e. lawn mower) put it back together or an engine and beef it up. Must be willing to be at our Fridley, Minnesota location M-F minimum 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.
Develop and manage project schedule, site logistics plan, utilize tools and equipment, collaborate with project partner superintendents
Coach, supervise, and develop team members, conduct orientations, planning sessions, site meetings, supervise project partners, interview/hire/transfer/dismiss team members
Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training, conduct career development discussions
Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance, recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions, seek process improvements
(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
