The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining apartment units and common areas, responding to resident work orders, completing unit turns, and helping ensure the property remains safe, clean, and in good working condition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete resident maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, including toilets, faucets, sinks, leaks, and garbage disposals
- Perform basic electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, light fixtures, and breakers
- Troubleshoot HVAC and air-conditioning issues
- Repair and/or replace appliances as needed
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, painting, and touch-ups
- Complete apartment make-readies/unit turns for new move-ins
- Change locks, repair doors, cabinets, and other apartment fixtures
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections
- Maintain common areas and address property-related maintenance issues
- Keep maintenance areas, tools, and supplies organized
- Communicate with management regarding completed work, needed parts, and major repairs
- Respond professionally to residents and provide good customer service
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations when necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous apartment, multifamily, or general maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, and general repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems independently
- Must be dependable and able to complete assigned work without constant supervision
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely lift, carry, climb ladders, bend, and perform physical maintenance work
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work well with management, residents, vendors, and other team members
