Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Cleaning Technician to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining clean, sanitary, and welcoming environments for our clients. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality work.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas
- Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Clean and sanitize surfaces, fixtures, and equipment
- Properly dispose of trash and recyclables
- Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards promptly
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment when needed
Requirements
- Prior cleaning or janitorial experience preferred (not required)
- Strong attention to detail is mandatory
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks
- Positive attitude and professional communication skills
- Must have a clean background and be able to pass a drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation of their own
Reliable transportation means you must own or have consistent access to your own vehicle. Being dropped off by a friend, spouse, roommate, or family member will not work for this position.
Scheduling Expectations (Please Read Carefully)
- Must be available Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no exceptions)
- Hours may vary due to client cancellations, reschedules, and schedule adjustments
- Flexibility is required — some days may be lighter or heavier than others
- Occasional evening commercial shifts occur approximately 2–3 times per month, and availability for those shifts is required
This position requires reliability and flexibility. If you require a fixed, unchanging schedule every day, this role will not be a good fit.
Transportation & Vehicle Requirements
Cleaning Technicians will drive their personal vehicle to and from job locations.
- A removable company logo magnet must be displayed on your vehicle while working
- The company does not reimburse gas or vehicle expenses
Reliable personal transportation is non-negotiable.
Pay Structure & Compensation Details
This position is paid as a 1099 independent contractor.
- Taxes are not withheld from pay
- You are responsible for your own federal, state, and self-employment taxes
- You will receive a 1099 form at year-end reflecting total earnings
- It is recommended that you set aside approximately 20–30% of each paycheck for taxes
Pay Schedule:Employees are paid weekly on Mondays, with payment sent via Venmo by the end of the day Monday.
Raise After 90 Days:Technicians who successfully complete their 90-day period and meet performance expectations will receive a pay increase.
If you are unfamiliar with 1099 contractor work, it is strongly recommended that you consult a tax professional before applying to ensure you understand your responsibilities.
Non-Compete Agreement
All Cleaning Technicians must sign a non-compete agreement.
This means that during employment — and for a specified period afterward — you may not:
- Solicit or accept cleaning work directly from company clients
- Start or work for a competing cleaning company that services our existing clients
This agreement protects the company’s client relationships and business investments.
