Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Physical Therapy Insurance Verifier to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of health insurance policies, No Fault expert and Workers' Compensation, policies, with a focus on verifying insurance coverage for physical therapy services. This role is essential in ensuring accurate reimbursement . The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and experience working within No Fault carriers and personal injury liens.
Duties
- Review patient account ledger as well as account balance and verify insurance coverage for physical therapy services.
- Adequate assessment of insurance coverage by contacting insurance carrier and patient legal counsel providers to confirm benefits, coverage and reimbursement details.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all verification processes.
- Utilize medical billing system and monitor the patient balance and payment patterns.
- Manage medical records and documentation related to insurance verification activities efficiently within EMR/EHR platforms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, personal injury attorneys and insurance representatives to resolve coverage issues promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care procedures, and medical billing practices to ensure accuracy in verification processes..
Skills
- Strong knowledge of personal injury carriers regulations and guidelines to safeguard reimbursement.
- Proficiency in medical documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and correspondence.
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting involving insurance verificaiton.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as EMR/EHR platforms used for documentation and billing purposes.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to physical therapy, diagnostics, and treatment procedures.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment.
