An education services network on Long Island is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a great School Nurse position at one of their schools in Nassau County.
About the Opportunity:
Assignment Length: 2026-2027 School Year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 7:40am to 4:10pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Setting: School
Responsibilities:

Provide nursing assessment, first aid, and appropriate medical care to students and staff

Evaluate illnesses and injuries and determine appropriate follow-up or referral when necessary

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and applicable regulations

Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses, disabilities, allergies, or other healthcare needs

Monitor health conditions, maintain health records, conduct screenings, and communicate with families and school staff regarding student health needs
Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license

Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification

Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, healthcare providers, and school administrators

Ability to respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies and changing situations

Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
