Cumberland Family Dentistry is a fee-for-service father/daughter dentist office in Richland, MS. We are looking for a competent, full-time dental assistant who will make our dental office more efficient and create pleasant experiences for our patients. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. One should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct and indirect patient care and able to make office procedures flow as smooth as possible. We prefer a positive, self-motivated dental assistant who is capable of being a team player, quick learner, and help throughout the office as needed to make the schedule run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set-up instruments, equipment, and materials as needed
- Sterilize instruments and disinfect treatment rooms according to regulations
- Assist the dentists through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Skills
- 2 years experience as dental assistant is highly favorable
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Radiology permit-experience with dexis digital imaging is preferred
- Ability to perform regulated, non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing and fluoride varnish applications as needed
- Computer competence - charting, documentation of procedures
- Intraoral photography with camera and 3-D trios intraoral scanning experience
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized, reliable, and punctual
- High school diploma; graduation from dental assistant school is preferred
- CPR certification up-to-date
