Job Overview
JBH Custom Homes & Remodeling is looking for dependable, motivated Construction Laborers / Carpenters to join our growing construction team. We have opportunities for both full-time and part-time team members working on projects throughout Northeast and Central Florida.
This is a hands-on field position and not a single-trade role. Our projects cover many different phases of construction, and we are looking for people who are versatile, willing to learn, and comfortable jumping in wherever needed to keep projects moving.
Depending on the project, work may include demolition, framing, concrete, roofing, siding, doors and windows, trim carpentry, garage doors, remodeling, restoration, and other general construction activities.
Whether you’re an experienced tradesperson or someone with construction experience who wants to develop a broader skill set, we are interested in hearing from you.

- Identify potential construction or quality issues and communicate them to project management
- Work independently when appropriate and as part of a crew on larger projects
- Perform other construction-related work as projects require
Qualifications
Construction experience is preferred, particularly experience with framing, roofing, concrete, carpentry, remodeling, restoration, garage doors, or general residential construction.
However, you do not need to be an expert in every area. We are willing to consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong work ethic, mechanical ability, reliability, and a serious desire to learn.
Candidates should:
- Have reliable transportation
- Be dependable and consistently show up on time
- Be comfortable traveling to different project locations
- Be comfortable working outdoors and in Florida weather
- Be comfortable working from ladders, roofs, scaffolding, and elevated work areas
- Be capable of performing physically demanding construction work
- Know how to safely use common construction tools
- Be able to accurately use a tape measure
- Be able to follow instructions, plans, and construction drawings
- Maintain a professional attitude around homeowners, customers, subcontractors, and other trades
- Take pride in quality workmanship
- Follow jobsite safety requirements
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in people who are versatile and willing to learn multiple areas of construction.
You don’t need to be a master of every trade. Someone who can frame one day, help with concrete the next, install doors or trim, assist with roofing, perform demolition, or handle general construction tasks as needed would be an excellent fit.
We are also interested in experienced tradespeople who already specialize in a particular area but want the opportunity to broaden their construction experience.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Part-time positions may be a good fit for experienced construction professionals looking for additional work or individuals looking to gain more hands-on construction experience.
For individuals who demonstrate reliability, quality workmanship, initiative, and leadership ability, there is an opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the company grows.
About JBH Custom Homes & Remodeling
JBH Custom Homes & Remodeling is a veteran-owned construction company serving Northeast and Central Florida.
Our current work includes custom homes, ground-up residential construction, additions, major renovations, structural repairs, exterior improvements, and other residential construction projects.
We are also actively expanding our capabilities. JBH is pursuing additional contractor licensing and expanding into roofing, commercial build-outs, commercial remodeling, and restoration work, creating opportunities for our team to gain experience across an increasingly diverse range of construction projects.
Our projects range from ground-up construction to complex renovations and repairs. Because of the variety of work we perform, team members have the opportunity to work across multiple phases of construction rather than being limited to one repetitive task or trade.
We believe in quality workmanship, accountability, safety, communication, and doing the job correctly. We are building a team of dependable people who take pride in their work and want to be part of a growing construction company.
As JBH continues to expand, we expect opportunities for the right individuals to develop additional trade skills, take on greater responsibility, lead crews, and potentially advance into field-supervision or project-management positions.
