Internship is offered to graduate students for Counseling or Social Work that have completed all of their other requirements for their doctorate degree. They should also abide by the rules and regulations provided by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). They should also be keen to learn and take note of the things that they can learn during the training.
Here are some of their responsibilities:
- Provide assessments and intake reports and referrals
- Perform supervised individual and group counseling
- Knowledgeable in the different disciplines in psychology and types of therapy
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written work
- Accept constructive feedback for strengths and areas of improvement
- Support clients during emergencies
- And more
All throughout their training, they will be observed and supervised so we would know about their abilities and advice them on how to improve.
