Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with automatic transmission across designated routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and route planning.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times, load status, and any issues encountered during transit.
Skills
- 2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations related to trucking operations and hazardous materials handling.
- Excellent route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery routes.
- Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures and safety protocols for truck driving environments.
