Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our plant operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure quality craftsmanship on every project. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primer, paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns , and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine the scope of work and specific requirements for each project.
- Execute various types of painting including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial painting, restoration projects, and construction site painting.
- Perform surface treatments such as plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Utilize schematics and technical instructions for precise application of coatings in renovation or remodeling projects.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the process to ensure smooth finishes and adherence to safety standards.
- Assist with related tasks such as carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), concrete finishing, masonry work, welding (as needed), and handyman repairs to support overall project completion.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting with a strong background in residential and commercial projects.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and material needs.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, airless spray equipment, and scaffolding setup.
- Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate finishes and achieving desired aesthetic effects.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, stucco application, restoration work, and renovation projects is highly desirable.
- Construction site experience including safety protocols and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities.
- Additional skills such as carpentry (trim or frame) or handyman experience will be considered advantageous.
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
