Front Line Trace Consulting LLC is seeking a Construction Superintendent with MEP expertise for a ground-up MRI facility on the campus of a psychiatric hospital in Orangeburg, NY. The client for this project is the New York State Office of General Services (OGS).
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site day-to-day monitoring of construction activities across multi-trade contracts to ensure work conforms to contract requirements
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of construction
- Coordinate third-party code inspections and documentation
- Communicate with the project team and support subcontractors in executing their work effectively and efficiently
- Read, interpret, and coordinate drawings and specifications across trades
- Prepare daily reports and activity logs documenting site conditions and progress
- Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet safety and compliance requirements
- Maintain comprehensive written daily logs of visitors, work performed, materials expended, and problems resolved
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and facilitating collaboration among team members in various roles
- Review and approve contractor as-builts
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in NYC construction leading multiple phases of building/rehabilitation projects including MEP focus
- 4+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Inspector on large-scale, multi-contract building projects
- OSHA 30
- Strong ability to develop and communicate a detailed project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against plan, and perform detailed coordination reviews of design drawings across all project trades
- Strong communication and collaboration skills working with clients and construction contractors/subcontractors
Preferred:
- Institutional construction project experience
- Medical, hospital, or psychiatric construction experience
- CM side (construction management) construction experience
- Tech savvy and skills with Bluebeam & Submittal Exchange
