We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team at our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of prior experience serving as a Director of Nursing in a nursing home or long-term care setting. This is a leadership role that requires a dynamic, compassionate, and highly organized individual who can oversee clinical operations, guide nursing staff, and ensure excellence in patient care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the nursing team to maintain the highest standards of care.
- Manage staffing schedules, performance, and professional development of nursing personnel.
- Implement and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and documentation to ensure appropriate and individualized care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Enforce infection control and patient safety protocols throughout the facility.
- Serve as a key liaison between residents, families, medical staff, and facility leadership.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards of care.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all clinical activities.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and inventory for nursing department supplies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is required.
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and healthcare standards in long-term care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and build a strong clinical team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
