Automotive Service Technician - Full time

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Service Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, committed to continuous learning, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and electrical components.
- Complete routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid replacements, and multi-point vehicle inspections.
- Accurately document repair procedures, inspection findings, and service recommendations in repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle conditions, repair status, and additional work required.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and all safety regulations to ensure quality workmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while properly handling tools, equipment, and materials.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair methods.
- Collaborate with team members to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing automotive vehicles in a dealership or independent repair shop.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine performance, braking systems, suspension, electrical systems, and climate control.
- Experience using diagnostic scanners, repair software, and computerized service information systems.
- Basic computer skills for completing repair documentation and online training requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an Automotive Technology program or equivalent technical training.
- ASE certifications or manufacturer-specific certifications are preferred.
- Previous experience working with domestic vehicle brands is an advantage but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting automotive parts, tools, and equipment as required.
- Comfortable working with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while following all workplace safety guidelines.
