Job Overview
The role of this position is to ensure that our guests receive the best service we can offer and to always provide a clean and organized environment. As a Steward you are expected to help prepare high quality foods, serve customers as needed, interact with guests in a professional manner, and perform various cleaning duties. This position is key in maintaining a friendly, clean, safe, and enjoyable facility and classroom experience for our guests.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Prep food for classes from recipes and set up food items for classes or events and serve drinks during classes
· Assist Instructor during class as needed following their instruction and direction
· Ensure that all food items in the storeroom, storage racks, and refrigerators/freezers are properly labeled
· Follow Health Department guidelines at all times
· Maintain a clean classroom before, during, and after classes
· Wash dishes during and after classes
· Sweep/mop floors during and after classes
· Check in customers using roster, welcome them, check waivers
· Empty trash cans during and after classes. Place tied trash bags in dumpster
· Refill paper towel and soap dispensers in all areas including rest room as needed
· Organize equipment and supplies as needed
· Clean restroom during and after class
· Clean shelves, tables, stools as needed
· Dust and clean lobby and other areas as needed
· Perform other duties as requested by Instructors and Management
· Follow and complete the Steward checklist at the end of your shift
Qualifications
· Exhibit a friendly smiling personality
· Excellent organizational skills
· Great personal hygiene habits
· Neat and clean appearance at all times
· Basic cooking and food preparation skills preferred but will train the right person
· Ability to read and follow a recipe
· Ability to measure ingredients and set up classroom stations
· Basic cleaning skills
· Basic service skills
· Complete the Knox County health department food safety course & exam
· Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
· Be able to work on your feet for long periods of time in a kitchen environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
