Physical Therapist Per-Diem, Part time
Practice Physical Therapy Differently
We are a boutique physical therapy clinic in Long Island City seeking an experienced, personable physical therapist for a flexible per-diem position, with option to grow into part/full.
This role is designed for a clinician who wants an excellent quality of life without sacrificing the quality of their work. You will spend your appointments focused entirely on your patients, and not juggling multiple treatment tables or drowning in documentation at the end of the day.
Our patients expect a highly personalized, premium experience. In return, you will have the time and support to provide attentive care, build meaningful relationships, and help each patient understand the value of completing their recommended plan of care.
This is not an entry level training position. We are looking for a confident clinician who can step into a high expectation environment, communicate effectively, and represent our services with professionalism.
What You’ll Do
- Provide attentive, one-on-one physical therapy in a boutique clinical setting
- Evaluate patients and create clear, appropriate plans of care
- Spend the full clinical session focused on the patient
- Explain diagnoses, recommendations, and expected outcomes in language patients can understand
- Confidently communicate the value of treatment and guide patients toward the right decision for their health
- Help patients remain engaged and committed throughout their plan of care
- Conduct discovery sessions and convert appropriate candidates into evaluations
- Build genuine relationships that encourage loyalty, referrals, and long term trust
- Follow up with prospective, current, or former patients when appropriate
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using an efficient workflow
- Recommend relevant wellness, fitness, or conditioning services when they support a patient’s goals
- Contribute to a polished, welcoming, and highly personalized patient experience
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold an active New York State physical therapist license
- Have strong clinical judgment and can work independently
- Are warm, engaging, professional, and comfortable building rapport quickly
- Know how to make patients feel heard, cared for, and confident in their treatment
- Can clearly explain the value of a plan of care, including its time and financial commitment
- Are comfortable with consultative selling and asking patients to commit when treatment is appropriate
- Can recognize when a patient is becoming uncertain, disengaged, or at risk of dropping out
- Are comfortable being accountable for patient experience, retention, and appropriate conversion
- Take ownership of your schedule, communication, and documentation
- Appreciate high standards and thoughtful feedback
- Want flexibility without the administrative burden common in high volume clinics
What We Offer
- A flexible per-diem schedule
- One-on-one appointments that allow you to be fully present with each patient
- An efficient documentation process designed to keep notes from taking over your day
- A calm, boutique environment without the pace of a high-volume clinic
- Friendly patients and a supportive, professional team
- Autonomy in your clinical work
- Clear expectations and the resources needed to deliver an exceptional patient experience
- Competitive per-diem compensation, with additional earning potential tied to your impact
The Right Fit
This position is ideal for a physical therapist who wants to do excellent work, connect deeply with patients, and maintain flexibility and balance outside the clinic. You should be clinically capable, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a practice where both exceptional care and a premium patient experience matter.
If you are confident in your ability to deliver excellent care, communicate value, and help patients commit to achieving their goals, we would love to hear from you.
