Active PA Grades PK-4 or Elementary K-6 certification is required.
Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.
Description:
The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. This position will be a 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates. The Elementary Teacher provides instruction, assessment, and educational support to elementary students in accordance with district curriculum, Pennsylvania academic standards, and district instructional goals. This position creates and maintains a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth of all students. The Elementary Teacher collaborates with staff, families, and administrators to promote student success and foster a safe, inclusive, and student-centered school environment.
Responsibilities:

Plans and delivers instruction aligned with district curriculum, Pennsylvania academic standards, and student learning needs.

Creates and maintains a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement.

Implements instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and classroom practices that support diverse learning styles and student abilities.

Assesses student learning using formal and informal assessment methods and utilizes data to guide instructional planning and intervention.

Maintains accurate records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and progress in accordance with district procedures.

Communicates effectively with students, families, administrators, and staff regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and educational needs.

Collaborates with grade-level teams, specialists, support staff, and administrators regarding curriculum, instruction, intervention planning, and student support services.

Participates in IEP meetings, Section 504 meetings, MTSS meetings, parent conferences, and student support activities, as appropriate.

Supports implementation of behavioral expectations, classroom management procedures, and social-emotional learning initiatives.

Integrates instructional technology and educational resources into classroom instruction to support student learning and engagement.

Develops and maintains lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom resources to support curriculum implementation.

Supervises students during instructional and non-instructional activities, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, assemblies, and field trips, as assigned.

Maintains confidentiality of student, personnel, and operational information.

Participates in required meetings, professional development activities, district initiatives, and school improvement efforts.

Terms of employment:
Full-time, contracted position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Position to begin as soon as possible as start of the professional staff school year is August 24, 2026.
