The Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer ( CUO) in Georgia will play a key leadership role in executing the organization strategic objectives by driving underwriting excellence across the enterprise. This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to risk appetite, pricing adequacy, underwriting authority and operational standards while supporting both internal and external business initiatives. Key responsibilities include leading and developing the underwriting team; partnering with Business Development and Operations in the evaluation, due diligence, onboarding, and management of new programs; overseeing the successful underwriting of both new and renewal business. The role will also provide leadership and guidance to program managers, including training and development to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen team capabilities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining standardized underwriting guidelines and policies across lines of business for MGA partners, as well as reviewing and establishing underwriting authority levels aligned with each Program underwriter’s experience and expertise to ensure appropriate decision-making autonomy. The ideal candidate will possess 8-12 years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience within a primary insurance or reinsurance carrier environment, including expertise in professional and management liability risks.
