Job Title: Handyman
Job Summary
The handyman is responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and renovation tasks to keep buildings, facilities, and equipment in proper working condition. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Assemble and install furnishings, shelves, fixtures, and equipment.
- Repair and paint walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
- Perform carpentry tasks such as flooring, stair, and cabinet repairs.
- Maintain exterior areas, including minor landscaping, gutters, and sidewalks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or service calls.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Manage and track supplies, tools, and repair materials.
- Collaborate with external contractors when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or in a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity.
- Excellent troubleshooting and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for mobile roles).
Preferred Skills
- Basic HVAC maintenance knowledge.
- Minor appliance repair.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical diagrams.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors.
- May require lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and operating power tools.
- Hours may vary depending on service calls or project demands.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
