Overview
Join Veteran Vends, a rapidly growing veteran-owned vending company serving military installations, commercial businesses, apartment communities, and office buildings throughout Southern California. We are looking for a dependable and motivated Route Service Technician to help maintain and service our vending machines and unattended retail locations in the San Diego area.
This is an independent, hands-on position where you'll be responsible for stocking products, maintaining clean and organized machines, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring every location receives exceptional service. You'll work from a local storage unit using a company vehicle while following an established service route. Responsibilities
- Service and restock vending machines, coolers, and unattended retail locations according to an established route.
- Transport products safely from the company storage unit to customer locations using a company vehicle.
- Rotate inventory and ensure products remain fresh and organized.
- Clean vending machines, coolers, and surrounding service areas to maintain a professional appearance.
- Verify pricing, product selections, and machine functionality during every service visit.
- Identify and report equipment issues, damaged products, or customer concerns promptly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on vending equipment and notify management of repairs requiring additional service.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and document products added, removed, or discarded.
- Use a mobile device to complete service reports, upload photos, and communicate route updates.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, organized work vehicle.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with clients and facility personnel.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a professional appearance while representing Veteran Vends.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- MUST have military base access
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for route management and reporting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience troubleshooting equipment is a plus but not required.
- Prior experience in vending, delivery, merchandising, route sales, warehouse operations, or inventory management is preferred but not required.
