Job Summary
The Materials & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient material flow and accurate inventory management in support of production and customer requirements. This role ensures timely inbound and outbound logistics, strong ERP transaction discipline, and alignment across cross-functional teams, while maintaining compliance with company standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily materials operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, issuing, and material handling.

Ensure timely availability of materials, components, and subassemblies to support production schedules.

Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, including receipt of materials and shipment of finished goods, parts, and equipment.

Ensure accurate ERP transactions for receiving, shipping, inventory movements, and adjustments.

Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.

Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Manage warehouse organization, material flow, dock operations, and space utilization.

Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including documentation and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Planning, Customer Service, and Aftermarket teams to align priorities and resolve issues

Track and communicate risks related to material shortages, delays, damages, or shipment constraints.

Develop and implement process improvements to optimize inventory accuracy, material flow, and logistics efficiency.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality systems (including ISO requirements).

Lead, train, and develop shipping, receiving, and inventory personnel.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.

Manage relationships with freight carriers and logistics service providers.
Qualifications

High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.

Strong knowledge of inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Jobscope, SAP, Oracle, or similar accepted).

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.

Understanding of ISO standards and quality systems is desirable.

Knowledge of domestic and international logistics and freight coordination.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
Working Conditions

Primarily based in a manufacturing plant and warehouse environment.

Regular exposure to production areas, forklifts, and material handling equipment.

May require lifting (35–50 lbs), standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
