DEFINITION/PURPOSE: Compliance Inspector. The position is responsible for conducting inspections, investigations, gaming machine certifications, compliance reviews, and regulatory oversight of gaming activities in the WEKOPA Casino Resort to ensure compliance with the AZ-Tribal compact, the Nation’s ordinances, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), and the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)

TASKS:
The Tribal Regulatory Agency Inspector, under limited supervision, protects Tribal assets and ensures the integrity of gaming operations by monitoring casino activities, gaming devices, and regulatory compliance procedures in accordance with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Internal Controls, Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) regulations, and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Must be able to work any shift.
· Monitor and report unusual occurrences, suspected Compact violations, unauthorized gaming activity, or irregular gaming procedures to the TRA Director.
· Conduct inspections to ensure gaming devices, table games, and associated equipment are operating in accordance with approved rules, payout schedules, and regulatory standards.
· Assist with the monitoring and verification of promotional activities to ensure compliance with Gaming Compact requirements and approved promotional rules.
· Maintain accurate inspection logs, incident reports, machine certification records, and regulatory documentation required for audit and compliance purposes.
· Observe compliance with surveillance coverage requirements and report any deficiencies impacting regulatory oversight.
· Verify gaming machine software signatures, EPROMs, logic boards, and associated gaming components to ensure approved software and configurations are properly installed.
· Witness and document access to gaming machine logic areas, cash compartments, progressive controllers, and secure gaming components.
· Verify gaming machine identification numbers, asset numbers, denominations, par sheets, pay tables, progressive settings, and required regulatory labeling.
· Maintain detailed records and documentation related to gaming machine certifications, inspections, maintenance entries, and regulatory approvals.
· Observe and report any unauthorized access, tampering, software irregularities, or violations involving gaming devices or associated equipment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
· Knowledge of federal, state, and tribal ordinances, laws, and regulations governing gaming operations.
· Experience with gaming machine operations, certifications, slot systems, or gaming compliance inspections preferred.
· Basic understanding of gaming device software verification and gaming machine access procedures preferred.
· Ability to learn and apply Tribal Internal Controls, AZ Gaming Compact, Appendix A requirements, and gaming machine compliance standards.
· Recognize the difference regarding gaming classification
· Skill in utilizing a computer and related software.
· Skill in oral and written communication.
· Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Arizona Department of Gaming, vendors, other interested parties and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
1) High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D) required;
2) Ability to learn Computer programs and monitor the essential functions of the electronic gaming device tracking system utilized at Fort McDowell Tribal Gaming Office
3) One or more year of regulatory compliance or equivalent education or trade school
4) Gaming or work experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties and good communications skills to prepare clear and concise reports
5) Working knowledge of the AZ/Tribal Compact Gaming;
6) Candidates selected for the position must be able to pass an extensive background check
PAY RATE: $49,807.09 to $59,768.50
