Manufacturing Estimator

If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges and figuring out the most efficient way to build a product, this could be a great fit. As a Manufacturing Estimator, you'll work with engineering, production, purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to develop accurate quotes for contract-manufactured products used in the semiconductor industry.
This role is ideal for someone who understands machining, plastic fabrication, welding, and assembly, and enjoys balancing cost, quality, and lead time to deliver competitive, accurate estimates.
What You'll Do
- Review customer quote requests and prepare accurate, timely quotations
- Develop cost-effective manufacturing process plans, including setup time, run time, and expected yield
- Create machining, welding, and assembly process plans that align with facility capabilities
- Determine required materials and select vendors for raw materials and OEM components
- Request supplier quotes for materials, outside processes, and services, and negotiate competitive pricing
- Establish lead times based on customer requirements and production capacity
- Participate in weekly New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings with cross-functional teams
- Analyze estimated profitability on quotes and review actual profitability after production
- Ensure all quotes meet customer requirements and applicable industry specifications
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience estimating or quoting machined products
- Experience preparing quotes in a CNC machine shop or plastic fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
- Proven ability to read and interpret customer drawings and engineering specifications
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing process planning, including travelers and Manufacturing Order Travelers (MOTs)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (CAD)
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems; JobBOSS experience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of plastics and their behavior during machining, fabrication, and welding
- Experience estimating components manufactured from plastics, common metals, and specialty metals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mastercam (CAM) for machining or programming
- 3+ years of experience in a plastic welding and fabrication environment
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing
- Experience estimating work for aerospace or other highly regulated industries

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
