Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center (stanfordsettlement.org) is currently accepting applications for a Senior Center Activities Assistant. The purpose of the Senior Center is to help seniors stay healthy, socially connected, and active to avoid isolation and "age-in-place." This is accomplished by providing transportation, nutrition, wellness activities, socialization, and case management services.
Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and in collaboration with the Senior Center Activities Assistants, the Senior Center Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and day-to-day operation of the Senior Center program.
* Coordinate the daily operations of the Senior Center to ensure quality services for seniors.
* Schedule, coordinate, and assist with daily transportation to and from the Senior Center using agency vehicles, as well as medical appointments and other personal essential travel.
* Plan, coordinate, and facilitate recreational, wellness, and social activities that promote healthy aging and social connection.
* Provide direct services to participants, including information and referrals, advocacy, supportive services, and crisis intervention work.
* Develop positive relationships with participants and help create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
* Maintain accurate participant records, attendance, program reports, and statistical data in accordance with agency and funding requirements.
* Assist with the coordination, planning, and implementation of the annual Senior Health & Information Fair.
* Support volunteers and community partners who assist with Senior Center activities and special events.
* Assist with meal service, special events, and other program activities as needed.
* Monitor participant needs and communicate concerns or recommendations to the Assistant Director.
* Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and agency events.
* Collaborate with other Stanford Settlement programs and community organizations to enhance services for seniors.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Gerontology, with a minimum of one year experience working with seniors. A valid California driver license is also required, along with own automobile and insurance; good driving record. The typical work day is 8 am-4 pm, but may vary based on the activities of the program.
The salary is $22/hour for 40 hours per week, plus medical benefits, four weeks of paid vacation annually, and holidays. To apply, please respond with your resume.
