ICM Properties, Inc. is a full service professional property management and investment company focusing on multi-family residential properties. We currently manage over two thousand apartment units on the North Side of Chicago. Established in 1966, ICM is a family owned business with two fully staffed offices, professional property managers, and a dedicated maintenance team.
We are looking for a non-union painter. An ideal candidate will enjoy working independently, have an eye for detail, have some basic handyman skills, and will be customer service oriented. Painters will be responsible for rehabbing and painting multi-family dwellings. Most of our work focuses on interiors of units. We paint empty and occupied apartments. We're looking for a painter who understand the industry best practices and apply them to every aspect of their work.
Job Duties:
· Prepares walls and other surfaces for painting
· Make on-site preparations for building
· Paint the interiors of apartments
· Work with other construction professionals, such as carpenters, electricians and plumbers, to prepare units for lease
· Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping
· Collaborate with other professional painters on larger jobs
· Practice self-supervision on small jobs and ensure you complete each project in an efficient, timely manner
· Match paint samples for touch-ups and other small projects
· Meet with property managers to discuss color and finish options as well as other design details for leasing spaces
· Covering of fixtures and fill cracks and holes with appropriate material like plaster.
· Blend paints
· Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
· Provide exceptional customer service
· Keep a safe and clean work environment
Necessary skills and Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 years of painting experience
· Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver’s license and insurance)
· Experience working with older buildings
· Ability to complete projects on-time and on-budget
· Excellent communication and team-building skills
· Basic electrical knowledge is a plus
· Basic carpentry and locksmith knowledge is a plus
· Ability to effectively use a smart phone
This is a non-union position.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
