Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Senior Hosiery Designer with 3+ years experience to join our growing product development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of fashionable, functional, and trend-forward legwear products. As a Senior Designer, you will lead the creative process from concept development through final production, ensuring our collections resonate with consumers and elevate our brand presence.
Responsibilities
- Develop original design concepts for legwear and sock collections, incorporating current trends, consumer insights, and technical feasibility.
- Create detailed sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings using Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software, and vector illustration tools to communicate design ideas clearly.
- Translate artistic concepts into technical specifications for manufacturing, ensuring garment construction meets quality standards.
- Conduct fittings and prototype reviews to refine fit, comfort, and style details; adjust designs accordingly for optimal results.
- Stay informed of industry trends in fashion design, textiles, graphic design illustration, and theater experience to inspire innovative product ideas.
- Support merchandising efforts by creating compelling visual presentations that showcase design concepts for retail buyers and internal stakeholders.
Skills
- 3+ years of socks/hosiery experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for digital sketching and graphic design illustration.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software for technical pattern making and garment construction planning.
- Expertise in textile selection within industrial design contexts; understanding of textiles in fashion retail environments.
- Skilled in fashion design principles including color theory, silhouette development, and artistic concept development.
- Experience with vector illustration tools for detailed technical drawings and branding elements
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management systems to oversee design progression from concept through production.
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments through cross-functional communication skills; experience working with merchandising teams is a plus.
- Understanding of sewing techniques, garment construction processes, sewing machines operation, and sewing skills for prototype development.
