B’nai Israel Community Day School is a well-established, play-based preschool seeking creative, nurturing, and experienced early childhood educators to join our teaching team for the 2026–2027 school year. We have several available positions based on experience and education.
Our school has been a cornerstone of the community for over 50 years, offering a warm, inclusive environment where children learn through hands-on exploration, strong relationships, and daily connections to nature. We believe learning happens best when children feel safe, seen, and supported, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
Summary
Congregation B’nai Israel is seeking Preschool Teachers to join our team. We are looking for creative, nurturing educators who value play-based learning and building strong relationships with children and families. This role focuses on creating a supportive environment where children can explore, learn, and grow both indoors and outdoors. We currently have openings for both full-day and part-time afternoon positions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead meaningful, age-appropriate experiences based on children’s interests and development
- Create a calm, supportive classroom where children feel safe, confident, and engaged
- Support social, emotional, and cognitive growth through play and everyday interactions
- Guide behavior with patience and respect
- Build strong relationships with families and communicate regularly about their child’s growth
- Use hands-on, child-centered approaches to support different learning styles
- Observe children closely and adjust plans to meet their needs
Requirements
- CDA, Associate’s degree, or experience working with young children
- Around 2 years of classroom experience preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree is not required, but we value candidates who are continuing their education
- A strong understanding of child development
- Someone who is warm, flexible, and communicates well with both children and adults
Compensation
- Pay is based on experience and education
