This is not a hands-on installation role. It is a project/construction management position that will spend more time coordinating contractors, reviewing project documentation, tracking progress, and resolving issues than performing field work.

- Structured cabling and inside-building connectivity.
- Wi-Fi systems.
- Distributed antenna systems (DAS).
- Emergency responder radio communication systems (ERRCS/EERCS/ERCES).
- Building automation systems (BAS) and related low-voltage infrastructure.
- Telecom testing, commissioning, documentation, turnover, and closeout.
What You'll Do
- Oversee telecom contractors and subcontractors supporting construction.
- Monitor telecom construction against design requirements, project schedules, quality standards, and project priorities.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Review telecom drawings, schedules, submittals, testing documentation, progress reports, and turnover packages.
- Track milestones, dependencies, risks, open issues, and contractor performance.
- Identify telecom construction issues and work with the appropriate stakeholders to drive resolution.
- Participate in contractor meetings, coordination meetings, project reviews, and field walks.
- Provide clear updates on project status, risks, contractor performance, and decisions requiring escalation.
- Help ensure completed telecom infrastructure is properly tested, documented, and ready for owner acceptance.
- Support commissioning, closeout, and turnover of the telecom scope.
What We're Looking For
- Strong project management or construction management experience involving telecom and fiber infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of both ISP and OSP fiber construction.
- Experience with high-count and/or ribbon-fiber infrastructure.
- Experience overseeing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other construction stakeholders.
- Ability to understand telecom construction drawings, scopes, schedules, testing requirements, and project documentation.
- Experience evaluating contractor progress and performance.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-moving construction environment.
- Ability to work onsite in the Abilene, Texas area.
Highly Preferred
- Data center or other mission-critical construction experience.
- Hyperscale data center construction experience.
- Experience with Wi-Fi, DAS, ERRCS/EERCS, BAS, structured cabling, and integrated low-voltage systems.
- Telecom testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout experience.
- Experience overseeing large telecom construction contractors.
Compensation and Travel Package
- $70–$75 per hour, based on directly relevant experience.
- Overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate after 40 hours.
- Approximately 45 hours during most weeks, with flexibility to work up to 60 hours.
- $178 daily per diem for eligible out-of-market candidates.
- Regular weekend trips home paid for.
- Medical, dental, vision benefits - Telvero pays 50% of consultant's monthly premiums.
