American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Cardiac) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience with 1 year of recent cardiac or telemetry specialty experience.

42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit (6 North) in a hospital setting

Primarily cardiac patients presenting with chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias
-
Also serves medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, and occasional stroke, as well as surgical patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:6

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
Floating to other units and hospitals is required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
-
13-week contract
-
Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
-
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
-
At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Cardiac specialty required

Current driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

NURSYS license verification required for consideration

Full SSN required for consideration

Scrub color requirement: solid navy

Timekeeping system: Centricity

No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation

Cardiac RNs will be required to complete an online pre-test after accepting an offer
