Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Janitor and Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform routine general maintenance and custodial duties to keep Calvo Realty & Management properties and unites (interior and surrounding ground) clean and in proper operating conditions. Functions include but are not limited to, servicing and supplying restrooms, cleaning building floors and carpets, wiping down doors, walls, and glass, and gathering and disposing of trash.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Service, clean, disinfect, or supply restrooms, including toilets and sinks, and shower rooms
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors by removing debris and using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Sanitize all work areas and stations
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment
- Gather and empty trashcans and dispose of them in the trash bin
- Take inventory of cleaning materials, equipment, or supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed
- Perform rounds and inspect designated areas to ensure cooling systems are operational
- Notify management of any damages, non-working fixtures, and the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Escort vendors and service providers to the specified area for any maintenance required work
- Assist and communicate with tenants as needed referring complex and/or sensitive matters to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of the use of chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors, walls, and fixtures
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OR TRAINING:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED);
- At least 1-year experience in housekeeping experience or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities thereof to perform work
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does not have supervisory responsibility.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Activities occur indoors with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Occasionally, the worker may perform duties outdoors with wind and humidity. While performing the duties of this job, the work is subject to exposure to cleaning chemicals, odors, dust, and debris.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the worker is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull, lift, climb, and grasp objects.
The physical requirements of this position involve light work: Exerting up to
20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
For visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision, the worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
REGULAR EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM), weekdays, weekends and holidays.
