As a member of the Store Management team, you'll play a key role in driving the daily operations, financial performance, and overall success of the store. You'll inspire your team, create an exceptional shopping experience for every customer, and help foster a workplace built on accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Train and mentor a talented team of associates.
- Coach employees to deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
- Ensure staffing levels effectively support daily operations and customer needs.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable federal and state employment regulations.
- Oversee day-to-day store operations to ensure an efficient, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing shrink and loss.
- Monitor operating expenses and contribute to overall store profitability.
- Ensure merchandising standards, promotional displays, and seasonal presentations are consistently executed.
- Maintain store appearance, safety standards, and equipment.
- Analyze sales, margin, and operational reports to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance.
- Lead by example in delivering friendly, knowledgeable, and personalized customer service.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure every customer is greeted promptly and receives expert guidance on products and project solutions.
- Encourage suggestive selling and project-based recommendations that help customers complete their home improvement goals.
- Support the relationships and growth of commercial and contractor accounts.
- Assist with outside sales efforts and community relationship building as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships and expand new business.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent retail management experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience; hardware, home improvement, paint, or related experience is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, standing, stocking, and moving merchandise.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
