Job Title: Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) – Telehealth Only - Integrative Christian Counselor

Compensation: Clinicians will receive 36% of the reimbursement rate for each completed session, whether from insurance or private-pay clients. This percentage reflects both the clinical services provided and the autonomy in managing one's caseload and schedule within a supportive team environment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) licensed in the state of New Jersey to join our growing private practice. This is a 100% telehealth position that offers flexibility and autonomy while maintaining the highest standards of ethical, evidence-based clinical care.
The ideal candidate is passionate about providing Integrative Christian counseling, thoughtfully incorporating Christian faith and biblical principles into the therapeutic process when appropriate and aligned with each client's preferences and treatment goals. Candidates should be experienced in delivering evidence-based counseling interventions while supporting clients seeking spiritually integrated mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, couples, and group counseling via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and formulate accurate DSM-5 diagnoses.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, measurable, and evidence-based treatment plans.
- Utilize clinically sound interventions informed by modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or others as appropriate.
- Integrate faith-based principles into therapy in a client-centered and clinically appropriate manner for clients who request it.
- Maintain timely and thorough documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and practice standards using TherapyNotes (EHR System)
- Accurately enter session billing information into TherapyNotes or designated electronic health record system.
- Answer a HIPAA-compliant phone line to manage your own schedule, respond to client inquiries, coordinate appointments, and handle rescheduling or cancellations.
- Attend weekly supervision and case consultations in accordance with New Jersey LAC licensure requirements.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and LPC supervisor to ensure quality assurance, risk mitigation, and professional development.
- Assess and manage suicide and safety risks, including the use of risk screening tools, safety planning, and coordination with clinical supervisors for higher levels of care when needed.
- Respond effectively to telehealth crisis situations, including contacting emergency services or coordinating with mobile crisis units as necessary.
- Coordinate care with outside providers (e.g., psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school counselors) as appropriate and with proper client consent.
- Manage a clinically appropriate caseload with consistent follow-up, continuity of care, and responsiveness to client needs.
- Utilize standardized outcome measures (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) to assess progress and inform treatment planning.
- Participate in ongoing training, case consultation, and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in staff meetings as scheduled.
- Adhere to all HIPAA, NJ Board of Counseling regulations, ACA Code of Ethics, and internal practice policies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited program in Counseling or Social Work
- Active New Jersey LAC license in good standing, with eligibility to provide clinical services under supervision.
- Demonstrated experience providing individual, couples, and/or group therapy, preferably in a telehealth setting.
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, formulating accurate DSM-5 diagnoses, and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
- Skilled in delivering evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR or other empirically supported modalities.
- Competent in the assessment and clinical management of suicide risk, including documentation and referral to higher levels of care.
- Ability to provide faith-integrated counseling that aligns with clients’ spiritual values and clinical needs.
- Familiarity with New Jersey-specific mental health regulations, including telehealth, mandated reporting, and professional standards.
- Receptive to clinical supervision and committed to ongoing professional growth, self-reflection, and ethical practice.
- Strong cultural competency and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse client populations.
- Technological proficiency in telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and basic troubleshooting in a remote setting.
- Maintains a private, secure, and professional home workspace with reliable internet connectivity.
