Position Summary
TMG is seeking a Defense Support of Civil Authorities Duty Desk Officer to maintain continuous situational awareness and decision support for National Guard domestic operations. The officer will monitor multiple classified and unclassified information streams, maintain the common operational picture, process requests, and deliver accurate, time-sensitive reports to the NGCC Team Chief and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide uninterrupted shift coverage on the NGCC Joint Operations Center floor and participate in formal shift-change briefings.
- Monitor, validate, and update common-operating-picture and shared-situational-awareness tools across NIPR and SIPR environments.
- Track National Guard activities, hazards, disasters, deployments, RFIs, RFAs, and DSCA missions using approved Federal, state, and interagency sources.
- Prepare hourly situational status products, increasing to 30-minute updates during crises when directed, plus daily and recurring operational reports.
- Draft EXSUMs, SITREPs, shift-change products, NMCC O&I inputs, meeting notes, and leadership briefings for Government review and approval.
- Alert the Team Chief to emerging hazards, operational shortfalls, reporting triggers, and requests from states, territories, interagency partners, or Combatant Commands.
- Support emergency relocation and split operations while sustaining primary-site coverage; draft AARs and enter approved lessons into JLLIS.
- Maintain required CAC, facility badge, SIPR token, issued equipment, emergency communications credentials, travel card, and readiness go-bag.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or at least 10 years of directly relevant experience.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in operations, emergency management, cyber program analysis, domestic incident response, or a related field.
- Knowledge of DSCA authorities and processes, DoD Directive 3025.18, CARRLL criteria, the Stafford Act, and the National Incident Management System.
- Ability to interpret strategic and operational documents, manage multiple information streams, and produce accurate reports under severe time pressure.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating nights, weekends, holidays, emergency shifts, and alternate-site assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of DSCA Phase I and Phase II training.
- Experience in the NGCC, a Joint Operations Center, Joint Field Office, National Guard J3/4/7, emergency operations center, or similar rapid-response environment.
- Experience with MSS, WebEOC/UCP-COP, HSIN, SAGE, DCS, JLLIS, ETMS2, Microsoft Teams, or comparable systems.
- Cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM when supporting cyber-focused duties.
- Current CAC, SIPR token, and experience working simultaneously across classified and unclassified systems.
Posting status: Anticipated position supporting a federal proposal. Employment is contingent upon contract award, funded position availability, candidate qualification and clearance verification, and TMG approval.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
