Our client is seeking an HSE Compliance Technician to join their team. As an HSE Compliance Technician, you will be part of the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) team supporting research & development and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: HSE Compliance Technician
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Pay Range: $30/hour
- Manage large-scale chemical inventories, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely updates.
- Oversee SDS management systems, including retrieval, organization, and alignment with hazard communication standards.
- Administer SAP processes related to materials management and chemical tracking.
- Apply HMIS classifications and perform hazard assessments to support safe handling and storage practices.
- Collaborate with HSE professionals to maintain and improve HSE system performance.
- Working knowledge of OSHA Hazard Communication requirements, GHS labeling standards, and SDS interpretation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in occupational safety, information systems, engineering, environmental science, a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
