Are you a registered nurse with strong leadership experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment?
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead, plan, and coordinate the activities of a professional nursing team and auxiliary nursing personnel at a leading behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment facility in New Jersey.
This is a high-impact leadership role working closely with executive and medical leadership while guiding a team of professionals dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders and build lasting recovery.
As the Director of Nursing, you will:
- Provide 24-hour oversight and management of the Nursing Department, ensuring daily operations are conducted in accordance with facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Interpret facility policies and regulations for nursing personnel and ensure compliance.
- Analyze and evaluate nursing and related services to improve quality of patient care and effectively utilize staff time and capabilities.
- Consult routinely with executive and medical leadership in support of the organization's mission and vision.
- Ensure coordination and integration of nursing services with other client care services to promote continuity of care.
- Monitor patients for changes in health status, particularly following initiation of new medications, hospitalization, or a recent decline in function.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to promote individualized, person-centered, and recovery-oriented treatment.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and compassionate care.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from a qualified nursing school with equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Current state Registered Nurse license required.
- 7–9 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
- At least one year of full-time experience managing addiction treatment services in a licensed substance use disorder treatment facility.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare, detoxification processes, addiction, co-occurring disorders, DSM criteria, and related terminology.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
