Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Family Support Coordinator to join our team! In this vital role, you will work directly with families, children, and community partners to provide comprehensive support services. Your proactive approach will help families navigate complex challenges, access resources, and build stronger, healthier relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable populations while developing your skills in social services and family advocacy.
- Supports families within the Cutchins Programs in maximizing the benefit of Three Rivers’ services. Assists families in utilizing the services offered with a focus on extending those supports into the home and community. Works alongside parents/guardians providing assistance utilizing community and post-discharge resources, teaching life skills and behavioral support strategies to help their child and family as a whole in creating the quality of life they value.
- Develops supportive and empowering relationships with program families and children.
- Provides in-home and family-based support based on clinical treatment plan, including strengthening parenting skills, practicing child’s developing self-management, and problem solving any obstacles families face.
- Champions family involvement with the program at all levels, helping the program to engage families in attendance at program functions such as Family Group or Family therapy, and in maintaining a family friendly culture at all levels.
- Assists clients in engaging community activities and resources.
- Maintains active communication and coordination with all team members.
- Attends weekly clinical staff meetings, Network meetings, and Team meetings.
- Helps the Team appreciate and address the unique in-home and community-based challenges for all families.
- Helps to create and offer family trainings with other Three Rivers staff as well as family day activities on-site.
- Helps to obtain and provide administration with the DMH family report cards on a quarterly basis.
- Adheres to Cutchins Programs for Children and Families Rules, Standards and Ethics Policy.
- Participates in management functions such as establishing policies and hiring.
- Degree: B.A., B.S., or M.S.W preferred
- License and/or Certification: None, professional development encouraged.
- Years and Type of Experience: 1-year related experience. Experience as a parent of a child with mental health or related challenges and systemic resource utilization.
- Other Skills or Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, general computer skills, valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients in the community
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical restraints and participate in recreational activities, visual and auditory acuity to supervise clients, the ability to drive a car, absence of contagious diseases.
