Building & Grounds Custodian

Position Summary:
The HLNCC Custodian will clean and maintain the school or other educational facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.
· Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeteria.
· Performs limited ground maintenance such as weed removal, trimming bushes and low-hanging trees, and cleaning snow from sidewalks.
· Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
· Power wash buildings, grounds, and sidewalks, and cleans windows.
· Assists in examining community center for safety hazards, and reports deficiencies to management.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Assist with event set up and take down.
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
· Detail-oriented and thorough.
· Ability to operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning.
· Ability to keep the community center clean and orderly.
· Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Must pass a background check and complete tuberculosis screening.
· Prolonged periods of standing.
· Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Compensation and Benefits:
· Part-Time with option of going full-time.
· Vacation, Personal, Sick Accrual
· 32-40 hours per week
· Pay range: $13-15per hour
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
