We are seeking a highly motivated Controller to join our finance leadership team and support the Company's continued growth, operational excellence, and public-company reporting requirements.
The Controller will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in a growing public company while helping shape financial processes, systems, and strategic initiatives.
Position Summary
The Controller will lead the Company's accounting function and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting expertise, public-company experience, and a passion for process improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements, and Section 16 reporting.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal accounting policies.
- Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
Accounting Operations
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Oversee cash management and treasury activities.
Technical Accounting
- Research and document technical accounting matters.
- Support accounting for stock-based compensation, acquisitions, debt instruments, and other complex transactions.
- Prepare accounting memoranda and supporting documentation for auditors and regulators.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Manage and optimize accounting systems, including NetSuite and related financial applications.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiencies, and operational improvements.
- Develop key performance metrics and management reporting packages.
Planning & Analysis Support
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Partner with department leaders to analyze financial performance and support decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives and special projects.
Leadership
- Supervise and develop accounting staff.
- Establish accountability, training, and professional development programs.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing accounting operations and month-end close processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
- Public company and SEC reporting experience.
- CPA license
- Experience with NetSuite ERP.
- Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading external audits and implementing internal controls.
- Familiarity with equity compensation accounting and technical accounting research.
