Job Summary
The Assistant Preschool Director supports the Director in the daily operation of the preschool, including staff supervision, program implementation, licensing compliance, and family communication. The assistant director will work closely with the preschool Director, teachers, and families to ensure that each child's individual needs are met, and that the program's goals and objectives are being achieved. This role ensures continuity of leadership and assumes responsibility in the Director’s absence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
* Minimum 12–24 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development
* Coursework must include core areas:
* Child growth and development
* Child, family, and community
* Program/curriculum
* Administration or supervision units (preferred)
Experience
* Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience in a licensed childcare center
* At least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role (preferred)
Certifications
* Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification
* Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207 compliant)
Clearances & Health Requirements
* Criminal background clearance (Live Scan)
* TB clearance
* Immunization compliance (MMR, Tdap, Influenza as required)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● Assisting the director with planning and implementing strategies
● Work with the director to coordinate and supervise daily operations, preparing and setting up activities, implementing portions of the dailprogram
● Assisting the director with projects and initiative by completing assigned tasks
● Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
● Meets with Director/Assistant Director once a month to brainstorm upcoming month curriculum
● Submits monthly supply list by the 23rd of each month
● Develop a social media presence
● Monitoring activities assigned to other staff members
● Supporting staff when needed and model in classrooms
● Give breaks to staff and stepping in to classroom when needed
● Offering assist in naptime and breaking other staff for lunch
● Assist with diapering and taking children to the restroom
● Assist in keeping the classroom and storage areas, clean and orderly
● Assist with dishes, laundry, and other task
● Takes inventory of supplies and restocks classrooms as necessary
● Instills a sense of order and classroom management throughout the school
● Mentors staff and reflect positivity and a growth mindset
● Updates allergy list in each classroom
● Prepare nutrition snack menu that meets title 22 regulations
● Answer phones and take inquiries
● Prove customer service to all families visiting the preschool
● Communicates through ProCare answering questions through the messaging setting.
● Post pictures and incident report through ProCare
● Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and school wide events as required.
● Complete task as assigned by director
● Assume the responsibilities of the director when the director is absent

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
