SUMMARY: Performs clerical work of a routine and varied nature with moderate but proficient typing,
and computer skills e.g., reports, business correspondence, forms and other matters; may file records and/or
reports; sorts and distributes mail, answers telephone; and performs other clerical duties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position. When

Performs routine clerical assignments in accordance with established procedures and 35%

Proofreads and enters data from various sources 10%
Performs basic mathematical calculations 10%
Operates all office machines and duplication equipment 15%
Answers telephones, transfers calls to appropriate persons; records and delivers 15%
messages; sorts and delivers mail
Maintains various reports, records, accounts, and/or files related to the operation of the 15%
work unit

Knowledge of current office best practices and procedures; use of office machines, computers and
equipment; proper and business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; methods and techniques used
in recordkeeping; principles and practices of supervision, organizational and department functions; and
WCSS guidelines and policies used in providing information
