NIGHT SHIFT
FT 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts available
$55.00/hour
Duties
- Assess patients’ respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygenation levels, and pulmonary function tests.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as nebulization, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications in accordance with physician orders.
- Manage and operate ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment for patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting treatment plans based on physiological responses and clinical observations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care settings such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Conduct patient education on respiratory health, medication administration, and breathing exercises for outpatient and inpatient populations.
- Document all interventions accurately in medical records while adhering to hospital policies and medical terminology standards.
- Support emergency response efforts by providing critical respiratory interventions during acute episodes or trauma situations.
- Participate in ongoing training related to pulmonology advances, anatomy knowledge, and hospital protocols to ensure best practices.
Requirements
- Certification as a Respiratory Therapist from an accredited program; licensure as required by the state or region.
- Proven experience in hospital medicine
- Demonstrated proficiency in airway management techniques and ventilator management.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology principles, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy.
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and respond swiftly during emergencies.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- Prior hospital experience involving acute care settings
- CRT or RRT Certification
